The Birches, a specialist support school, were awarded the NWCPEA Best Practice award based on their Sports Link with St John’s RC Primary School. Over the academic year 2018-19, the two schools linked through a Sports Link Ambassador summit and worked together to share and develop new and inclusive activities. The Birches taught the children of St John’s to play new age kurling and the Ambassadors spent time in each setting making new friends, exploring the environment and ensuring that PE and sport for all was at the top of the agenda!
